Coaching AI grades run from 0 to 100 and fall into five tiers: At Risk (0–60), Below Average (60–70), Average (70–80), Above Average (80–90), and All-Time (90–100). Each grade is generated by the Black Box methodology using 200+ football-intelligence variables. The grade evaluates every aspect of a coach's game-day performance — from play-calling and situational decision-making to personnel deployment and in-game adjustments. Each grade is produced entirely from football-intelligence inputs, with zero reliance on media narratives or subjective analyst opinion.

Individual coach grades are weighted by role and situational impact, then aggregated into a single group grade that reflects how a staff performs together across a full slate of games.

Every matchup is built entirely from on-field inputs and the same 200+ variables, so two coaches are compared on measurable decisions — not reputation or media narrative.

Traditional analysis leans on box scores and opinion. The Black Box reads the full decision surface of a game — play-calling, personnel and in-game adjustments — to grade the quality of coaching itself.

Grades refresh every week, with new intelligence published Monday at 7:00am ET after each slate of games.
